These results support urea-containing formulas in specific settings. They do not prove that every product with the same percentage performs identically, because the vehicle, application schedule and other ingredients change the experience.

Urea is especially relevant when dryness feels rough, scaly or thick rather than simply tight. Lower legs, elbows, knees, heels and keratosis-pilaris-prone areas are common use cases. A face product should be specifically formulated for facial use.

Stinging is more likely on cracked, inflamed or recently exfoliated skin. People with diabetes, poor circulation, deep heel fissures or uncertain lesions should seek professional foot-care advice before using aggressive keratolytic products.
